Jon completed his advanced training in general surgery and was admitted as a Fellow to the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS, General Surgery). He then went on to complete a fellowship with further subspecialty training in bariatric weight loss surgery at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital and Holy Spirit Northside Hospital.

Mr John Dunn

After completing my surgical training in Auckland, I worked as Consultant Surgeon in the internationally renowned Hepatobiliary Surgical Unit of Groote Schuur Hospital, Cape Town. We helped pioneer the introduction of laparoscopic surgery to NZ in 1989-1990.

Stephanie Ulmer completed her Medical Degree at Otago University and surgical training in New Zealand. Following this she sub-specialised in Obesity Surgery and finished her training in Brisbane.

Mr Robert Cable

Mr. Robert Cable is a General & Laparoscopic Surgeon who has been involved with Obesity Surgery since the 1980’s. Since 1996 he has changed to Laparoscopic Obesity Surgery with the insertion of Lap Bands, and in 2006 Laparoscopic Sleeve Gastrectomy

Mr John Fleischl

Having graduated from Otago Medical School in 1978 I went on to do my surgical training in Auckland obtaining my FRACS in 1986.

Prof Richard Stubbs

Richard Stubbs graduated from Otago University as a medical doctor in 1976. After spending two years as a house surgeon in New Zealand, he travelled to the UK where he undertook specialist surgical training at The Royal Postgraduate Medical School, Hammersmith Hospital, London under the mentorship of Professor Leslie Blumgart.
