Dr Ved Prakesh (VP) Singh

Dr Ved Prakesh (VP) Singh is a graduate of University of Bombay, India. He completed his basic medical degree from King Edward Memorial Hospital and Seth G S Medical College, Bombay in 1988. He was part of the pioneering team credited with the first IVF baby in India. After completing his postgraduate training (MD) in 1991, he worked as Research Officer at Human Reproduction Research Centre at K E M Hospital, Bombay and was lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology with University of Bombay in 1992.

He moved to New Zealand in search of better lifestyle and to pursue further training and research. He worked as a Senior House Officer and Senior Registrar at National Women’s Hospital, Auckland in 1996. He was then appointed a Senior Registrar at Waikato Hospital, Hamilton, became a Consultant in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Reproductive Medicine in 2001 at Waikato Hospital and Fertility Associates Hamilton.

VP spends a significant portion of his time at the Fertility Associates Hamilton clinic pursuing his interest in reproductive medicine. His other major clinical interests are endometriosis surgery, operative laparoscopy and pelvic floor surgery.

VP conducts the clinics in Rotorua and Tauranga.
